Bookkeeping & small-business accounting · Golden, Colorado

Receipts in the truck. Three bank accounts.
We'll take it from here.

Most owners don't need a lecture about their books — they need someone to go and get them. We chase down the receipts, reconcile every account, and every month hand you a plain-English note on what your numbers actually mean. A real firm here in Golden, where the person who keeps your books is the one who answers the phone.

Flat monthly pricing from $300, never hourly  ·  AI-assisted, human-verified  ·  Serving Golden, Lakewood, Arvada & the west Denver metro

№ 01 — What makes us different

The part you'll actually read

Software can categorize transactions. It can't tell you why your margin slipped two points, or that you should hold cash for July's insurance renewal. So every month, along with your financials, you get a short note in plain English — what happened, what's coming, and what's worth a decision.

It's the difference between having books and knowing your business.

“Strong month — margins held at 35%. Two large vendor bills land in July, so we've set cash aside. Everything is reconciled and ready for your CPA.”

— a sample note. Yours will be about your business.

№ 02 — How we keep prices flat

Machines do the busywork. You pay for judgment.

We run a modern stack — the same AI tooling the big firms use — so the mechanical 80% of bookkeeping happens automatically. That's not a gimmick; it's the reason our flat prices sit below most local firms and national apps. The remaining 20% — review, accuracy, and what it all means — stays with a person whose name you know.

01

AI categorization, human-verified

Machine learning codes your bank feeds daily; your bookkeeper reviews every line before the month closes. Speed without the mistakes.

02

Receipt & document capture

Snap a photo of any receipt or bill — OCR reads it, files it, and matches it to the right transaction automatically.

03

Anomaly & duplicate detection

Software flags duplicate charges, odd amounts, and out-of-pattern spending before they become problems in your books.

04

Rolling cash-flow forecast

A 90-day forward view of your cash, drafted by the models and sanity-checked by a person who knows your business.

And the monthly note? Written by your bookkeeper, every time. AI drafts numbers — a person writes the meaning.

№ 04 — Who we keep books for

Golden runs on trades, taprooms, and small firms

№ 05 — What it costs

Flat pricing. The price is the price.

Essentials

$300/mo flat

Solo operators & micro-businesses — books kept clean and tax-ready.

Standard

$500/mo flat

Established small businesses — plus AR/AP, forecasting, and a monthly review call.

Industry

$1,000/mo flat

Contractors, hospitality, multi-entity — job costing, sales tax, payroll.

Every engagement starts with a $50 books check-up — credited to your first month — and a fixed quote in writing, never an hourly surprise. Industry covers up to 2 entities and ~600 transactions a month; beyond that we quote custom — still flat, still in writing. Full pricing detail →

№ 06 — Already have a bookkeeper?

Nobody fires a bookkeeper over a mistake.
They leave because the phone stopped ringing.

Most owners don't leave a bookkeeper over a mistake. They leave because the phone stopped getting answered — and they wait far too long to do it. If you've been chasing your own bookkeeper for answers about your own business, you already know. Moving is a file transfer — not a rebuild — and your QuickBooks file never leaves your hands.

Sound familiar?

  • You've called or emailed and you're still waiting to hear back.
  • You can't remember the last time they told you something you didn't ask about first.
  • Month-end arrives whenever it arrives — and you've stopped expecting a date.
  • Your CPA has commented on what they receive from your bookkeeper.
+ the rest, and what to do about it

№ 06 — Why a local firm

Your books shouldn't live in someone's app

In December 2024, a national bookkeeping app shut down overnight and locked thirty-five thousand businesses out of their own financial records. We built Premier Bookkeeping on the opposite idea: your bookkeeper should know your name, answer the phone, and do business in the same town you do.

01

You can always reach a person.

Call (720) 740-1230 and a human answers — the same person who keeps your books, not a queue.

02

Your books belong to you.

Full access to your own QuickBooks file, always. If you ever leave, everything goes with you — no hostage-taking.

03

We never touch your money.

Read-only bank connections. No check-signing, no transfers, no passwords held. We see the books; only you move the cash.

№ 07 — Where we work

Close enough to sit across a table from you.

Premier Bookkeeping is a Golden firm, and the whole point of a local bookkeeper is that you can actually reach one. We work with small businesses across the west Denver metro — near enough that “let's meet for coffee” is a real sentence and not a figure of speech.

№ 07 — Fair questions

Things people ask before handing over their books

What does a bookkeeper cost in Colorado?
Most small businesses pay $400–$900 a month at a local firm — national apps run $395–$550 for less service and no local human. We publish flat plans: Essentials $300, Standard $500, Industry $1,000, confirmed as a fixed price after a $50 books check-up — which we credit back on your first month if we're a fit. AI does our busywork, which is exactly why we can match the apps on price while beating them on service. Never an hourly meter.
We're two years behind. How bad is that?
Common, fixable, and nothing we haven't seen. Catch-up work is quoted as a fixed project — typically $300–$3,500 depending on how far back it goes — so you know the full cost before we start. Most backlogs are current within a few weeks.
Is this AI doing my books?
AI does the busywork — categorizing feeds, reading receipts, flagging anomalies. A human bookkeeper verifies every close, writes your monthly note, and answers when you call. You get the speed and price of automation with the judgment of a person whose name you know.
Do you replace my CPA?
No — we make your CPA cheaper. We keep the books clean and current all year; your CPA gets a tidy, reconciled file at tax time instead of a shoebox. We're happy to work directly with them. We don't provide audit, attestation, or tax opinions.
What software do you work in?
QuickBooks Online, primarily. If you're on spreadsheets, desktop software, or nothing at all, we'll set up QBO properly and move your history in.
Do you meet in person?
Yes — we're in Golden, and happy to meet anywhere in the west metro. Most monthly work happens remotely; the relationship doesn't have to.

Next step

Find out where your books stand.

The books check-up is $50 — a real review of your current books plus a written, flat-price plan. A small fee keeps both sides serious, and we credit it back on your first month if we're a fit. No hourly meter, ever.
